FaceTime PhotoBooth

A hot new trend at wedding receptions in 2010 are Photo Booths! Many couples are using photo booths at their receptions to ad that “wow” factor. This gives family and friends and opportunity to interact with the happy couple while also getting a souvenir of the special occasion. Usually when a photo booth is rented for a reception, the guests let loose and take fun photos, then the photos are gathered and put in a scrapbook for the couple to keep and look back on for years to come.

A photo booth is also used as the party favor for guests. Not only can family and friends take photos for the scrapbook, but they can keep a photo and always remember the special occasion. Another added benefit of having a photo booth at a reception is that it keeps the guests entertained, which is something I think everyone would agree they want for their guests. In seconds family and friends can create memories for the bride and groom as well as their own!

FaceTime Photobooth serves Alabama, Mississippi and the Florida panhandle. It is the place to go when renting a photo booth for wedding receptions and parties.

Visit their web-site to find out more information on photo booth rentals at FaceTimePhotobooth.com or call them at 1.888.988.FACE. Oh and don’t forget to follow them on FACEBOOK to see more fun photos and get updates on all the exciting things they are doing!

Kick Up Your Heels . . . With Color!

I am a firm believer that accessories make the outfit, and I agree with this maxim when it comes to bridal attire also. Of course I believe that the wedding gown is the center of any wedding ensemble, but it wouldn’t be complete without the veil, jewelry and of course the shoes, right?

Speaking of shoes, there has been a new, fun, non-traditional trend in bridal fashion and that is colored shoes paired with the traditional wedding gown. I know that I’m not alone in rejoicing about the rising number of brides that are choosing to forego the traditional white and off-white options in order to wear shoes more reflective of their personalities and fashionable tastes.

Many brides are purchasing shoes that match their wedding color scheme and or satisfy the “something blue” requirement. Colorful footwear not only provides for some awesome photo opportunities, but it also gives the bride the ability to re-wear her shoes long after the reception and honey moon are over. I love this new trend and look forward to seeing more and more brides incorporate colorful shoes into their wedding day attire!

Just Married . . . . Now for the Honeymoon!

So much thought and planning goes into the wedding day, as well as the honeymoon. Going on a honeymoon is a time for the happy couple to celebrate and relax. Where to go is often a question the bride and groom discuss months before their big day. Do they go somewhere where the sun is shining, drinks are served with little umbrellas and the water is crystal clear, or do they opt for something more low key like a quiet, romantic cabin in the mountains? There are so many fabulous places for the newlyweds to consider, it’s all up to them and how they want to spend their honeymoon!

According to a recent poll, these are the Top 10 Honeymoon Destinations for 2010:

Hawaii

Mexico

St. Lucia

Bahamas

Dominican Republic

Pretty Parasols

While Parasols have been used for hundreds of years, they have now become such a hot trend in weddings and are that must have accessory. They are fun, functional and fashionable and also make such a great prop when it comes to photos. They are great for that modern bride and can also ad a bit of a vintage feel while adding a fashionable touch to a brides gown and her wedding party.

They come in all colors and styles these days it’s not hard for a bride to find them to match her color scheme for her wedding. They are used mostly in the spring and summer and on those hot days they provide the bride and her bridesmaids with a little shade which really helps when photos are taken outdoors.

Local photographer, Christen Jones of Christen Jones Photography, has photographed many weddings and has some fabulous shots of brides and their wedding party with pretty parasols! As you can see, they make for the perfect accessory and really ads a special touch to photos.

Parasols can also be used to decorate with. They can be hanging from the ceiling at the reception, propped up on tables, lined up down the isle (this is great for an outdoor or beach wedding,) and mixed hanging with paper lanterns. Another idea is instead of having your bridesmaids carry flowers, they could each carry a parasol. If you have an outdoor, beach or garden wedding and worry about your guests getting too hot, you can have parasols for them to use to block the sun. This would help them stay cool and also make the view as you walk down the isle elegant. Not only can parasols be used to keep your guests more comfortable, but they can also be your wedding favors by letting your guests keep a parasol after the ceremony. Some brides have even personalized them by writing messages, the wedding date, the initials of the bride and groom, or simply “Thank you” on each one. While you may pay a bit more to have enough parasols to keep your guests out of the sun, think of the money you will save by also using them as your favors!

If you are planning your wedding and want a great way to accesorize and add that special touch on your wedding day with out breaking the bank, think parasols! You can purchase them in a number of different colors and personalize them with monograms, beads, flowers, and ribbon! The ideas when using parasols for your wedding are really endless. There are so many things you can do with them if you really want to get creative. Think outside the box. Think Parasols!

We did a Cake and Flowers photo shoot for our Vintage inspired theme and Karen created a beautiful 5 layer, bejeweled cake adorned with edible pearls and other sparkling luster. Not only was her cake a beauty on the outside but the cake itself was a lovely clean, smooth slice of European butter cream and a beautiful raspberry marmalade filling.

Real Weddings in Southern Bride Magazine

Real Weddings are a very special part of Southern Bride Magazine. On the cover of every issue we always feature a Real Wedding and we go through a lengthy yet fun process selecting the winners of the cover. We get hundreds of real weddings submitted to us and it is always so hard to narrow it down to just a few. Along with the cover, we also feature a few real weddings in each issue. While our readers love every part of the magazine, the brides-to-be especially love seeing the real weddings. There is just something about knowing that the weddings they are looking at are in fact “real.” This makes the wedding planning process that much more magical for Brides as they dream and plan their very own big day. Each real wedding we feature includes a short story about the couple. We find out details about how they met, where they are from, details of their wedding that were important to them, and so much more. Each real wedding lists the vendors the Bride and Groom used, which is a great tool for other brides planning their weddings in those areas. It also gives our readers and other brides a chance to see vendors work such as photographers, caterers and wedding planners.

If you or anyone you know is getting married, or has been married recently, tell them to submit their Real Wedding to Southern Bride.com. You never know, it could be your wedding on the next cover of Southern Bride Magazine!
